Evaporation without dehumidification just moves water from your floor into your air, where it re-condenses inside a colder wall assembly somewhere else in the building. That is how a kitchen loss becomes a mold problem in an adjacent bedroom two months later.
Structural drying means calculating the affected volume, placing enough air movement to break the still layer against wet surfaces, and pairing it with enough dehumidification to actually remove the moisture that evaporates. Then measuring, every day, whether it is working.
The IICRC S500 standard exists precisely because this is measurable not a matter of experience or confidence.

A wood floor is usually savable for about 48 hours.
Injection drying forces air directly beneath the boards through mats, pulling water out of the assembly before the wood cups or crowns permanently.
After that window, the boards deform, the subfloor delaminates, and replacement stops being a choice. It is the single scope where response time translates most directly into money. That is why we bring the equipment on the first truck, instead of scheduling it for later in the week.
